Lawrence
Technology Leaders
Lawrence Technology Leaders is a Student Technology Leadership Project to help students and teachers. The LTL members consist of students who are knowledgeable about computer software programs that help integrate technology into the core subjects and knowledgeable about hardware and software. Members attend before, during and after school activities providing Public Relations by video taping, taking pictures, and assisting presenters with hardware and software concerns. They assist teachers with Power Point presentations as teaching tools and inter-active lessons as well as provide learning opportunities and entertainment during school-wide assemblies. Members can navigate SmartBoards and help students and teachers integrate the SmartBoard technology with language arts, writing and math. They assess minor hardware problems and solve or report to their team captain. LTL members created a Handheld Manual for teachers and students. Teachers can request their help during lessons that integrate handhelds in writing, reading and math. Members have created Power Points that teach students about School Wide Expectations. School expectations are read daily during morning announcements and the Power Points are presented during school assemblies. Here are just a few so you can see for yourself that Lawrence Elementary has high student expectations. Be courteous when assisting and helping staff or students. When entering a classroom you may hear a member say: "Excuse me for interrupting, do you need assistance with your computers?" "We're here to help you with your SMARTBoard" Complete the task quietly without interrupting the class. Be prompt and courteous at all times. The world of technology is ever changing and we are constantly learning. We are learners and teachers. We are eager to learn more and share what we've learned. How can we help you? |
